The spookiest swinger in town

For possibly the weirdest video you will see this year, visit http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article385529.ece and click on the video box.

The video was shot in a playground in the town of Firmat, Argentina (not the UK, I know, but I couldn't resist drawing your attention to it). The middle seat of a children's swing moved busily back and forth for at least ten days without stopping, as if a ghostly child was enjoying himself on it. No satisfactory scientific explanation for the phenomenon (electro-magnetic fields etc) was forthcoming.

I'm not sure whether the phenomenon is still taking place. Perhaps a little spirit was having some innocent, earthly fun before 'moving on'. Anyway, there's no suggestion that the video was hoaxed in any way and it's all rather gobsmacking. Enjoy!

Nightmares can come true, too

The latest monthly 'More Uncanny' articles is the flip-side to the previous article on dreams which led to people being rescued from a horrible fate.

In this story, a man had the same dream over several nights; actually it was a nightmare. He dreamed his daughter was trapped in a narrow space and that shadowy figures were stuffing cotton wool in her mouth! Ignoring the dream led to horrible consequences, which I will allow you to discover for yourself. It's all rather creepy, though.

The 'More Uncanny' series of articles is intended to cover weird subjects that won't fit under the other four categories of Ghosts, Fairies, Witchcraft and Strange Creatures. The series is updated every month.

To read them, you need to become a Registered Reader. To do this, click on the 'Register now' button on the left-hand side of the home page and follow the simple instructions. Your email address will be safely stored and won't be used for any marketing purposes, by us or anyone else. It's just useful for us to see how many people like the site enough to revisit on a regular basis. Enjoy!
